![]() before and after. When I pop, I turn the heat up to very high, I then put a tablespoon of oil in the pan. The popping kernels go in the middle of the oil and then I put a lid on it and walk away until I hear a pop. I don't bother the pan while it is popping. I just wait until the popping has subsided and then I remove the pan from the heat. A lot of people fuss over their popping corn. I just don't think it is worth the effort as I get excellent results with this very simple frying pan method. ![]() You can view the results of my popping in the above photo and what didn't pop in the bottom photo. ![]() How did the popcorn taste? In a word, wonderful. It was not at all like Orville's. It was crunchier and more coarser. Not at all like any commercial popcorn. Just very good. I have several more cobs to enjoy. Perhaps YOU will get a taste of "Home" grown popcorn the next time we visit. Question, why is it you can buy a quart bag of popcorn (seed) for three bucks with enough seed to plant an entire field but one package of seed corn with enough seed for only three rows, costs three bucks as well. 1/50th the quantity but the same price. Sometimes I feel like I am getting ripped off. Lets do a co-op and share our extra seed, this next year. |
