Yard and garden shots, just for the fun of it.

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, a peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked, if Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?  I cooked one of these Jalapeno's and then did a conservative taste.  I hardly bit into it but it caused a three alarm fire which would of went unabated had I been out of milk, ice cream and ice cubes  I do not think I will be doing the Chili Rellano recipe after all..
I love the corn stalks.  They are very majestic and eye catching.  I hear from my neighbors that this corn is unusually tall.  I don't think so.  It is probably because there is nothing to compare it with.  I have finished the first two rows of corn and I am now working on the second two rows.  Lots of ears are left to test and taste.

I dug up some more Russet Potatoes.  I am a little disappointed in the yield but since I haven't dug up potatoes since I was a teenager, I may have forgotten what a normal yield is.  Below, all washed and ready for baking.

A Cantaloupe hiding in the grass.  I think the season will be too short for this to come to maturity.

Stay tuned while we find out together.

Fresh from the garden!

A seedless watermelon which is not very seedless and not very tasty.  I kind of figured the farmers did something extra to make a seedless watermelon.  An article on growing "seedless" watermelons.  Now I know.  I wonder though, why is the taste not as good as the store bought?  We will chalk this one up to a failed experiment.  Next year, I will use the sickly looking white seeds.
