This photo is for my cat "Baby." She would be very entertained at the thought of entertaining this creature for dinner. Does anybody know why cats are so sadistic, having to tease and torture their prey before killing it? That just seems so uncivilized. Oh wait, we do that to the Iraqis. I guess it is O.K. then.
This is a "Jail Bird" as denoted by its stripped suit. Folsom Prison perhaps? It isn't often you see a Woodpecker posing horizontally. I think this was a case of finding a tasty well of succulent bugs to feed off of.

An experiment in black and white and shades in between. Maybe I am prejudiced but B&W just falls short of what I expect in a photo. Yes I get that you can focus more on the content then on the contrast provided by color but, ho hum, give me my color.
Has anybody else experimented with B&W and could you share your results with me? Your reason for doing so? I bet I am just being narrow minded. I don't think so but let me know your thoughts.
