Saturday Night "Illumination"

Saturday Night Fireworks

A short sweet trip to Albuquerque, NM to do the Balloon Fiesta and to visit friends.  I left San Jose on Tuesday morning allowing three days to get to NM.  In Albuquerque I spent three nights camping at the KOA for an inflated price of $50 a night and one night in the guest room of a friend of a friend.  I arrived back home late Wednesday night of the second week out.

On the way, I spent a night at a friends house in Redlands, CA and one night at a motel in Flagstaff, AZ.  After leaving NM, I spent Monday night at a friends house in Prescott AZ as well as Tuesday night at my sisters house in Temecula.

My trip mishaps were a cracked windshield from a rock off of a truck on Hwy 4 in AZ when coming back, a dead battery replacement in Albuquerque, and cutting my adventure two days short because it got too stinking cold and windy to camp at Big Sur.

My mileage was 2,813.  Yes, a short trip being just over a week long but the photos were worth it.  It was quite an adventure!

What did I like most?  The fireworks show is at the top of my list.  It was the longest, most colorful, most exciting show ever.  At one point, when they surprised us by lighting off the field besides us, it was like a firestorm of pyrotechnics. The last two photos of the fireworks photos, show a little bit of what was going on.

You haven't done a Balloon Fiesta yet?  It's crowded, over hyped but extreme fun as well.  I would do it again.
