FREE HIV TESTING at SJSU

Have you been putting off your HIV test?  You don't have to put off getting tested any longer because San Jose State University will be administering FREE HIV tests on campus.

The FREE HIV testing takes place Wednesday, December 1 2004, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Thursday, December 2 2004, from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Student Health Buiding, room 208.

The following is a list of expected testing procedures:


1) Register for HIV testing in Rm. 208 on one of the two designated days and times.  

2) Complete a consent form and other necessary registration forms.  Any information you submit will be held in strictest confidence.  The results of your test will only be shared with you.
 
3) Proceed to pre-test counseling.  Here, a counselor will go over your paperwork and testing procedures.  

4) Take the actual HIV test: A small sample of blood (about a mini tube's worth) will be withdrawn from your arm.

5) Make an appointment during the week of December 6 through 10 2004, to get your test results & post-test counseling.
