ABOUT THE AUTHOR
:
I'm Jim Huffman.  I reside in San Jose, CA  This manual is based on my personal experience of having ridden for 30 plus years and having raced in the AFM Club for 5 of those years in the late 1980s.  This manual also includes my profound affection for motorcycles and motorcycle riding in general.  My aspiration in writing this manual is to help any body who reads this manual, to avoid some dumb mistakes, share some basic riding skills and if possible, avoid some unnecessary crashes.  (As if there were ever any necessary crashes. ;=)

What ensues for the reader of this basic riding manual, are some very Basic and Intermediate Motorcycle Riding Instructions and Definitions. I will explain also that this is a fluid document under constant revision and addition.  If anybody would like to see something corrected, added (such as a first person experience you had,) embellished, etc., drop a line.  I really do enjoy hearing from other riders, especially about their adventures and even miss-adventures.  Sometimes sharing a mishap can prevent somebody else from duplicating your own mishap.  If your adventure is noteworthy, I will get in touch with you and add it to this write up if appropriate but only if it is O.K. with you.

Disclaimer:
Riding a motorcycle is by its very nature, risky, dangerous and a liability, solely on your part.  Following or not following these instructions does not constitute any liability on the author’s part.   It is your life, your bike, and your responsibility to ride and use your or any motorcycle safely, not mine.   These instructions are only provided as a guide.  How you use these instructions or not use them is your responsibility.  I accept no liability for the use or misuse of information or instruction, provided herein.   Besides, if you had listened to your mother, you wouldn't be reading this manual in the first place.  Still your fault.  Sorry. © LED Foot Lighting, February, 2003
